Snot & Tests
Let me just tell you that runny noses and taking tests don't go together very well. I got to my 2nd day of Freshman Comp a few minutes late this morning. I really don't have a good excuss except that I'm adjusting to less sleep & waking up about 3 to 4 hours earlier than I have all summer. It took me a few minutes to get situated before I started the test to determine my strengths & weaknesses in grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, etc. Most everyone was on question 5 by the time I finished writing my name on the scantron. Here's where the runny nose comes in... I spent most of class sniffing and wiping my nose on the arm of my sweatshirt that was now sitting on my lap. In-between sips of coffee and wipes of my nose, I worked on my test, a little distracted by how much noise I was making as I sniffed and day-dreaming of tissues. As students finished & got up to leave, I took my time making sure that I read every possible answer and carefully picked the incorrect sentences, all the while thinking about how far behind I was from everyone. I ended up finishing my test, just as a few students from the next class were strolling in and chatting with one another. Of course, I was the last one, finishing a few minutes after another girl. I don't feel too bad about it, because I'm pretty sure I did well on the test.
Two things I've learned from this morning... Never leave my dorm without a pack of tissues and show up early to class! Which reminds me, I should leave in a few minutes to head up the hill for my Old Testament class. I've been told by a friend that I probably won't like this Prof very much and may not agree with him on some things. Great! At least I'll be challenged. I just pray that I have the courage to voice my thoughts & opinions if I disagree. Day 2 of college is almost over.

well it is all sounding fun... take all the time they give you in a test... Nothing hurts you by reading, re-reading, and re-re-reading again to make sure you got it... but do finish the test... that is a must... Din't "compare" to others... it is not THEIR education you are getting... Stand up when you need to stand up, but guarenteed they are smart then you and I (or at least like to through "research" around)... Faith is good, it is what Paul spoke of, constantly speaking about what GOD has done for him... I don't think you are going to get any of your sleep back, EVER...
have to agree with tim on the sleep thing :)
But hey, you got to sleep in alot this summer...
